Gfx for Dell tower 350w psu

I think many of us are in this situation (not wanting upgrade psu or not being able to.. ).. so the 750 ti is only good option? seems a bit expensive since other cards WAY better for little bit more.. what other choices are there? 7750 i guess? Thanks friend is low budget and wants play games on his tiny tower.

The Dell 350W PSUs do have a single 6-pin AFAIK.

Assuming you have that 6-pin, a 960 should work fine too. I wouldn't go for one of the heavily overclocked ones with that PSU though. Walmart has an ASUS branded 960 online for $185.

750 Ti is the best option. Faster cards will use too much power, and cheaper cards will be slower.

GTX 750, non Ti is still faster than HD7750, and the cheapest one on Newegg right now is 89.99 after 20.00 rebate. Or you can get a 750Ti for 119.99 after rebate.

Cheapest HD7750 is only 10.00 less than the GTX750, but doesnt involve a rebate.

I assumed only the XPS dells with the 460 watt psu had six pin connectors (I have one, it has 2 actually), but you can check on the 350 watt. If it has a six pin connector, you could move up to something like the R7 260/260x although that might be pushing it. Performance will be close to 750Ti but about 30.00 cheaper.

Edit: how old is the computer and what is the cpu? If it is an i3 you will have a bit more power budget to work with, but personally, I would just go with the 750Ti. Maybe not the absolute best performance per dollar, but it has 2gb ram and for sure should not overload a 350 watt PSU of decent quality, which I think dells are. The 750 Ti was seriously overpriced on launch, but it has come down to decent levels now.

Your big decision is between the GTX 750TI and GTX 960. What are the prices of those for you?

Here in Canada, the price difference is quite low... 750TI's are routinely $170CDN and 960's are around $220.

A Radeon R9 270 (not X!) has a single 6-pin connector and may work well. Check prices for that too.

R9 270 passmark score: 4,181
GTX 960 passmark score: 5,999

Of those three, I'd lean towards the 960, but keep your eyes open for good deals or sales... It's worth a little more money, but not a LOT more.
