what is a good GFX card for photo retouching? with HIGH RES/quality Graphics :)

matrox, then ATI(made by ati), and new GF4tis are also very good now. but can depend on the vendor and card for the GF4s. Also the off brand cards that use ati chips may not be as good for 2d work.

The next big thing is make sure you have a display device that can handle it . new 18in lcds are down to $600US range. make sure they have DVI inputs. I see the sony 24in monitor is still several thousand dollors.
