I got my hands on a OEM Gforce2 MX400, Its so bottom of the line its pathetic, But.....
Many of the programs like 3Dmark, NVMax , RivaTuner and a few more claim this card supports Sideband adressing but its not enabled and does not alow it to be set bt auto, Sandra in its scetchy wisdom claims it doesnot support SBA at all.
Im running the latest Drivers Det 30.82 (98se).
The only info about the internal info of the card is, Its a NV11 chip and the mfg is Fun_O_Ven_10de,dev_0110,rev A1.
The card does have a Cmos on it so I know the firmware can be changed.

If you have any info on such a mfg and what I could use to maybe change/reflash the firmware to turn on the SBA I would appreciate it.
Also your opinion of what earlyer drivers to use, I know that some of them do support older cards better.

THanks.

 I haven't seen anything recently, but from what I recall Sideband really doesn't help perf that much. Do also be sure that progs aren't reporting that your mobo is capable of SBA and incorrectly think it is disabled while it is more likely that it simply isn't supported on GF2MX cards.

;) Unless your gaming needs are very modest or your CPU is very slow, it would be very wise to simply consider a very cost effective GF4MX, Rad9000, GF3 or Rad8500. They ALL offer MUCH better perf than a GF2MX (no matter how much it's tweaked) and the last three have full DX8 hw functions as well as 128MB versions to boot. Certainly worth considering IMHO.

Thanks for the responds.
I have considered getting the one that you have formentioned but have had to put spending on hold and was hoping to get just a little more out of this.
Ill just rough it for a bit and watch the market for something good.
