Gforce video card problem

QueBert

Lifer
I installed Lord Of The Rings : ROTK today, it was running really choppy, even in 640x480@16

made sure my video drivers were current.
still no luck. So I run 3dmark2001se, it's choppy too.
confused I run dxdiag, I'm not getting any errors in it, but when I do the d3d test, the spinning box is going about 1000x too fast and doesn't even look 3d (but I can still see it, sort of)

download Detonator Destroyer to see if fully removing the video card drivers and reinstalling will help, it's saying "unknown card"

I have a GforceMX440se
any ideas what I can do to get this sucker working right again? before I deltree WinXP and reinstall.

ROTK is a really graphic intensive card. i think it is just the card holding u back

also it is a dx9 game and your card is not dx 9 compatiable

true but a 1800+ CPU with 512 megs DDR333 should run it semi ok at 640x480@16.

I think there is something wrong with my drivers or some windows setting. I just went into my video card properties and the 3d core clock setting is grayed out, I'm pretty sure it wasn't before.
hummm

It's something with my system. EA's site is saying the min sys requirments are 700mhz and a gf2 gts 32 meg. I know that is barebones, but I am well above what they require.
When I say the game is unplayable on my system I'm not talking 45 FPS, it's like 10-15 and hella choppy. lemme go try raven shield and see how that runs.

A GF4 MX is basically a faster GF2 MX, which is a crippled GF2 GTS. Your video card is holding you back.

I understand that, personally I like a gf2 gts better. But, this game should be running better on my setup, in lowest settings I get slow frame rates, choppy sound and the FMV isn't synced, and it's just AVI, I'd guess mpeg4.

they box says it's playable on half the system I have. I'm about to install the other game I just bought Max Payne 2, if that runs like crap I know I need to reinstall windows or figure out how to fix it 🙂

just ran 3dmark2001SE and got 3.5k I was getting over 6 before, so there is something up with my system. humm hopefully a clean install of windows will fix it 🙂
