When I boot my computer the cooling fan on my Visiontek G Force2 card starts and stops and makes a grinding noise. After about 5 mins the computer warms up and the problem stops. I'm afraid the fan is about to give out. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement fan for the card.

Sounds like nothing a little bit of machine oil cant fix. Peel off the sticker in the center of the fan blades and add a drop on the spindle/shaft and cover it again.

I also have the VT GF3 Ti200 and it started making the same fan noise as yours, after about 1 week; it also goes away after it warms up in a few minutes. As suggested, try a couple of drops of oil. The fan needs to be pryed up from the heatsink to get to the bottom sticker where the shaft is. I oiled mine and it was quiet for about a week, but it's starting to make some noise again. It appears to be a cheap non-ball bearing fan. I'll try more oil again, but if it persists, I'll remove it and silicon glue a standard ball bearing CPU fan to the HS and run it at +7 volts for quiet operation. Visiontek will not send you a new fan, they would have to replace the card, which seems like a waste, considering it is only the fan making noise. This seems to be a common problem on the VT cards, otherwise a terrific videocard.
