The Ti 200 seems to have some DX optimisations, but how are they beneficial?

I'm not sure what your referring to as the drivers and the actual core of the GF2 Pro is exactly the same as that used in the GF2 Ti. The GeForce2 Ti has no features that the GeForce2 Pro lacks when used with the latest drivers. the only funtional difference is the Ti has a 50MHz faster core clockspeed.

Ok thanks ( i think the Ti is .15um vs .18um too?)

It's just that some sites say that the 'GF 2 Pro is DX7 optimised' and the Ti 200 is 'DX 8 optimised'

Thaks for clearing that up

I don't think that the gf2 ti200 is optimized for dx8. All I have seen is the gf2 ti200/500 are a little faster than the pro, and some come with more options such as vivo.

Yes, it is built upon as improved process. Which may make for better overclockability of the core, but given how bandwidth limited the GF2 architecture is currently that tends to be a useless benefit.
The GF2 Ti is no more optimized for DX8 then is the classic GF2 Pro.

There is no such thing as a GF2 Ti200 or GF2 Ti500. There is only one type of "Ti" in the GeForce2 family, and it's simply called the GF2 Ti. The Ti200 and Ti500 brands refer to the GeForce 3 series. As there is no more then the one Ti based GeForce2 there was no need for any further differentiation in the "Ti" naming scheme.
Also, there are GF2 Pro cards that come with VIVO and such features already, so I don't see that as being an advantage for the Ti.
