GFCI Troubleshooting... :(

Could you clarify what you're talking about? What is that picture with the different colors supposed to represent??
 
Oh, and if I'm following you correctly, you're looking in the wrong direction. The GFCI compares the current in the hot wire with the current in the neutral wire. If they aren't the same (within some small tolerance), the circuit is tripped. The problem would probably be beyond the GFCI (or the outlet itself), rather than between the GFCI and the fusebox.
