I have a PIII821 o/c'd, 256Ram, spacewalkerME64, Riva TNT2 model 64 -32MB sdram
Time for an upgrade I think, while trying to play Ghost Recon at high settings for texture details. SO, being limited to PCI slots, I could find only the GF2MX200/400, probably due to the limitations of the PCI bandwidth. Since this isn't much of an upgrade I decided to try to find comparisons btw my TNT2 vs. GF2.
Than the other day I came across a GF4MX420 PCI version, that was $20 than the GF2. Knowing that to get the FULL potential of a GF4 I would need a AGP slot, this makes me wonder what the difference is between these two? Other than the new ??Lightening Memory Architecture?? or memory controller would I realize a performance difference between the GF2 vs. GF4
Lastly, thanks for hanging in there, has anyone found a comparison chart, etc of the performance gains between the TNT2 and GF2? I did use the "analyse my PC" at nvidia.com, but I wanted a more "unbiased" opinion/review.
Much appreciated.
