PNY has issued a press release announcing that they are the first add-on card manufacturer to retail with their Verto GeForce4 Ti 4600. The New Jersey based company is also providing extra goodies with their GeForce4 offerings.

As an added bonus and instant gratification for gamers, PNY's Verto GeForce4 family of graphics cards come with special in-box, value-added promotions including Star Wars Starfighter by LucasArts, a $49.99 value, free, with its Verto GeForce4 Ti 4600; a pair of 3-D Gaming Glasses, by i-O Display Systems, free, with its Verto GeForce4 Ti 4400; the award- winning video game, Ballistics by Grin, a $49.99 value, free, with its Verto GeForce4 MX 440; and 10 multi-colored, 700MB, 80-minute PNY brand CD- R's, free, with its Verto GeForce4 MX 420. These special promotions are available today through retailers while supplies last.
Of course we learned earlier that EB Games began shipping Visiontek GeForce4 pre-orders yesterday.

I'll take 4!

I can't rationalize spending $400 on a video card when that same card will be a fraction of that price in 6-9 months.

$400 will buy a P4/Motherboard/RAM ...

You can already purchase a TI4600 for $330. It's in hotdeal forum.

$400 ? GASP.....

I thought it was an awful lot of money already back late november where i paid $270 for my radeon....now only a few months later they literally blow out the radeon retails for as low as $130 ! I dont think that i'll ever buy a product again as soon as it is out....wasted money.....and the newer radeons even have faster rams....

same with Geforce4....wait some months and they'll drop like crazy..especially if the new ATI cards come out spring and (even better) the ATI R300 early summer.... $400 is NUTS !

Award winning game ballistics? That POS won an award? When I got my GF4 MX440 (Which I promptly returned) I tried that game and LITERALLY fell asleep during play! Was it ever BORING! :)

I was at Best Buy today with a friend who bought one of the very first visiontek GeForce3 cards (i love those guys, i own Nvidea stock !) for $400 how many months ago ???

They had his exact same card on the shelf for $173. He was bummed. I grabbed a radeon 8500 right next to it for $199 and made off with it. My dad's video card took a dump on him (a rage 128) and i decided to give him my radeon 64ddr (he loves to play rainbow 6 and SWAT3).

I will be bummed when i see the 8500 for $99, but not nearly so much as if i had bought it a month ago. (i know i could have got it cheaper mail order, but at BB i have a 30 day return policy and i know it's a full retail spec).

I got my Visiontek Ti4600 today. It's not a great overclocker, 321/717 out of the box. My 3DMark2001 went up about 25% to 12648. When I get my watercooling setup going I'll be able to push the processor and video a bit further.

With: P3 600 Katmai and 512MB. It would be stupid to add a GeForce4 for performance reasons. Plus, the video card would be worth as much as the rest of the computer. That would be like putting a Klipsch 4.1 Speaker System with a 300MHz E-Machine.
