Can anyone recommend a certain make for this card? Seems like there are at least a dozen companies that make a version, can anyone recommend a certain one?

ive got a chaintech special edition one. it looks great(gold), and it overclocks like a beast(but i dont overclock but a few times, overclocking is bad and you dont need to with a 4200), it has never NOT ran a game at everything maxed out, it always runs smooth as silk too. never a single problem with it. easy install. id reccomend it

its a little more than your average 4200, but you get what you pay for

MSI makes a great 4200 128!
overclocks the best of the 128MB's and has lots of features... good price too.

ANYONE who knows, would recommend an MSI card, unless they've had a problem with one. which would just be unlucky.
mine has video in/out, svideo, RCA, 2 VGA, everything... and it runs 315/560 MHz without a freaking glitch.

love this card.

I have a MSI GeForce4-Ti4400 and it overclocks to 330/630 from its stock 275/550. I love mine and I've never had any problems with it overclocked or not. Get an MSI!🙂

MSI make good cards. So do ASUS, Gainward, etc. Several manufacturers make good Ti4200's with all copper cooling designed for overclocking (such as Chaintech, the Abit Siluro OTES, etc).

Stay away from the regular (non-OTES) Abit cards - they overclock like junk so I hear.

Ive got the LeadTek 128 card and have got it overclocked to the same speeds as Ipno. My reason for going for the Leadtek were its 2D reviews. My understanding is that the 3d performace is similar on all the Geforce 4's, but that 2d saw some variations.

My Gainward Gf4ti4200 128mb GS with 4.0ns rams, running 312\595 with no problems, also with addition cooling it will do 330\610 with no problems I am sure, they have great 2d quality too, excelent on mine Nokia monitor

Ditto...I have a Gainward, Ultra/650 XP 128mb Golden Sample. It runs all day all week long at any speed I want. It runs solid at 317/589 for UT2003, and has gone to 324/599 for a few games at a time, but I still love my card enough not to push it.
