i have a gf4 ti 4200 card that i bought over a year ago and it has been working fine up until now which is getting worse
i try to play a game and it will freeze up for more then 5sec. at a time all the time even on very low resolution
i thought it was a software problem at first i had reinstalled drivers for the card even reformatted but it is a hardware problem, it is overheating even though the fan is running
im wondering if anyone can plz tell me what i can do and what to use to keep the card cooled down someone had said they had same exact problem as me and glued heatsinks or somthing on to the card and that worked for them

My friend has a cheapo Chaintech Geforce TI4200 64mb which he bought for $85. It has similiar issues cuz the stock HSF for the card sucks arse. He did some basic modding and was able to get an old athlon HSF on it.

Best bet, visit svc.com or newegg and get better cooling, the TI series GPU's are hot, and the 5800FX+ are even hotter, why do you think the leaf blower solution came about?:)

Try this...

You could get a vantec iceberq4. From what I've heard they seem to do an adequate job cooling. If you're current hsf is stuck on with glue or epoxy you'll want to be extremely careful. It's very easy to damage a card when trying to remove a hsf that is stuck on like that.
