Was wondering what is the difference in spec's between the Gf4 MX440 and 440se chips?

There are 4 cards in the MX series. MX460, MX440, MX440SE, MX440 with AGP8X support and MX420.
The MX440 and the MX440SE that you're talking about are based on the NV17 chip. Here are the specifications.

GF4MX440 - 1.1Bilion TexelsPS, 34Milion TrianglesPS, 6.4GB/sec of Memory Bandwidth, AGP4X.
GF4MX440SE - 1Bilion TexelsPS, 31Milion TrianglesPS, 5.3GB/sec of Memory Bandwidth, AGP4X.

Meaning, the SE version of the card is a weakened version of it.

The main difference is in the core and memory speed:-

mx440=270mhz core & 400mhz memory
mx440se=250mhz core & 332mhz memory

Here's some benchmark scores for a regular MX440 and a MX440SE tested with a AMD Athlon XP 1700 processor, tested using very high quality settings:-
