GF4 4600, driver 28.32 and Z-buffer problems

Hi There,

I recently updated from a GF3 (not a Ti) to a eVGA GF4 4600. I wrote an OpenGL problems which worked fine on geForce3, 2, 3Dlabs GVX1 and SGI octane MXI. After updating to the 4600, I am getting Z-buffer problems i.e. some of the triangles which should have been hidden appear. It looks like a Z-buffer problem. I have changed the OpenGL context to 16 bits/24 and 32 bits Z-buffer .... without any good results.

Intestingly enough, I observed the same problem with the SPEC viewperf 6.1.2 while displaying what looks like the power plant.

Has any of you observed such problems?

Thanks

Eric

Did you correctly uninstall nVidia's drivers before swapping cards?

Also, try the 2890s or the 2920s, make sure that your desktop is set to 32 bit colour and make sure that you have "always use 32 bit" selected in the OpenGL control panel. In addition, verify that "force 16 bit depth buffer" is disabled.
