I have following:
Athlon XP 1700+ @ 2079mhz (180fsb)
512 Hyperx Ram
8RDA+

My 3dmark 2001SE scores were around 9600 which seemed fine for my geforce 3 card. I got one of the $79 GF4 4200 cards at BB and now my score is 12800 with the card at 270/567. I have not tried it higher yet. I really did not think my score would go up that much. What do you think? Is this odd?

My GF4 4200 gives my 10600 at the factory settings. Yours seems reasonable with the overclocking.

I have the following:

Athlon XP1800+
768 DDR PC 2100 Mushkin
64mb GF 4 Ti4200 PNY

3DMark2001SE score was averaging 8800 without the system being overclocked. I'd have to agree with snake that your figures are reasonable, but I'm impressed they were THAT high.

Jesus christ. I'm pulling 6K figures for my old GeForce3. There's gotta be something severely wrong with my system if my scores are that miserable, and I haven't a freaking clue what it could be.

i'm getting about 11,000 with my albatron geforce 4 ti4280pv (not overclocked). the p4 1.6a overclocked to 2.1 is helping with my score. it's stable as a rock and plays all games well. 3dmark is overrated anyways.

I have and Asus Ti4200 and i get 12,800 with 3dmark2001.

Other parts:

Asus A7N8X
XP 2700
1024MB Samsung ram
WD 80Gig 8mb cache

I have a Ti4600 on my other system and I have to say the asus 4200 keeps up nicely. Just waiting till the NV35 comes out. Then I'll upgrade it.

For those of you who have scores lower than others... if you've overridden the settings for AA and AF by setting them in the nVidia tool, your scores will be lower because 3DMark will not be able to disable AA and AF for the tests to use default settings that everyone else uses... also make sure you're giving you 3DMark2001 score, not your 2003 score

BTW... the score in my profile is with the timing at 260/520 (Gainward Ti4200 128 MB)

3DMark scores don't mean jack squat by themselves... but if you're tweaking, or upgrading, that's the way to determine if your tweak/upgrading made a positive difference.

I got 10,960 first crack and little over 11,000 2nd try. So 11,000 with my 4200 128 MB 8x.

I also run a 2500 barton stock at 1.8 166FSB. Front side bus speeds make up much of the difference in benchmark scores. People who have their FSB clocked over the 166 barrier normally have over 12,000 points.
