Monitor: Dell FPS2000
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce 3 Ti 500 driver 6.13.10.2942

Problem: When I plug in the DVI cable I get a post screen and the Windows XP Pro loading screen with the scrolling blue bar thing. Then the screen goes black.

Then I boot with the VGA cable. When I go to advanced display properties:settings:advanced:Device Selection all I get is Analog Displays. (this is using the VGA connector) When I click Detect I get nothing.

help!

It is a VisionTec but the thing is I see it post and it gets to the windows xp start up screen then it goes black. I can also boot into XP in safe mode and see it.

Perhaps you have your windows resolution set to something your flat panel display doesn't support, next time you boot with VGA, turn the resolution/refresh rate to something you know the DFP supports...then reboot with the flat panel connected to the DVI port.

The likely reason you only see analog displays when you boot into windows is because the GF3 has a single RAMDAC, and using one connector disables the other in that particular implementation...therefore the DVI would be disabled when using the VGA connector.

Nope I allways run in 1600x1200 which is native for the dell @ 60hz. I noticed that in the display properties the display monitor is listed as Dell 2000FP(Analog) Mabie if I install a different Driver? where would I get such a driver for it as a DFP display? It is not on the CD that came with it and when I try windows update it installs the Analog driver.

I had the same prob with my visiontek, I emailed tech support, and they sent me a new bios for the card,* download), then it worked fine. 1 of the drivers did work on it tho, I believe it was in the 23 series of drivers. Hope this helps.

Hi,

I know the problem well, just went through it on my wife's computer. I have a XTASY 6964 (GeForce3 Ti 500) + NEC LCD 1850X running WinXP Pro SP1.

The only drivers that I found to properly enable the DVI port in Win2K/XP is the 21.83 drivers. Subsequent releases don't work (23.11+).

Big Lars - I just e-mailed VisionTek to get that BIOS update. Do you have it handy?
