Im pretty much lost in all this video card business now, with the FX, MX, Ti, BS, etc ...anyways, whatd be better for gaming, assuming I can get either one for like $90? Im mainly looking forward to playing GTA3:VC when it comes out this week, but my PC is not to fast nowadays. It currently has a GF2 GTS and it had no problem playing GTA3 when it came out last year (after the bug fixes were taken care of anyway)

The rigs linked in my sig are all messed up, because I had to mix and match parts from my old PC and older PC because the mobo crapped out last Sept. So what Im looking at is: AMD 1 GHz, 256-384 MB RAM (not sure of speed), 2 40GB 7200 RPM HDD, 16x DVD, GF2 GTS, and 300W Antec PSU

hey dude, i remember playing gta3 last summer on a geforce2 mx440. it was horrible...when it rained in the game, my fps would drop to 15. the funny thing is, this time around with vice city, its playing beautifully! im playing it at 640 tho. but even then, at 640 with AA and Anisotropic Filtering, its not choppy at all. I think Rockstar did a lot of tweaking for the PC this time. i think you should stick with your card, play on it, and then see if you need to buy another one. and since the GTS beats the MX, you should have no problem.

Id get a Ti4200 mate, these are amazing value cards if youre not using AA/AF. Out of the GF3 Ti200 and the FX5200, Id go for the latter, as theyre around the same price and the FX5200 is basically a GF3 Ti200 with DirectX9 compatibility, and both cards have the same memory bandwidth.

Well, I heard that VC was gonna be based on the same engine as GTA3, but I wouldve thought that the requirements might have gone up drastically. GTA3 did have a lot of bugs, but my GTS handled the game well, after I applied patcahes and tweaks. I guess Ill just stick it out with my GTS and see how it goes (BTW, considering that VC isn't gonna be released until later this week, I wont ask how you have it right now)

Richdog, thanks for the reply but nick1985 was right, there is no GF3 Ti4200....I was thinking of the GF3 Ti200
