<< Pretty good article. I wish he'd done an image quality comparison. >>

The card architecuture wouldn't affect that very much, that's dependent on the GPU itself. Radeons have the best image quality, but as you saw, they take a significant frame rate hit due to the use of super sampling.

Prolink's entry in this comparison is a GF2 Ti board. The review sample arrived set to a default speed of 250/440 MHz. This was a mistake, according to Prolink. We therefore reduced the clockspeed to the 250/400MHz settings of the retail version for all benchmarks.

That's odd- mine game at 250/444 as have all the others I have seen

Well, for the 2d portion, it differs quite a bit between different boards.

Yeah, really with the GF3 the only big differentiating factor in my mind would be "2D" image qaulity of the cards. Since so few review sites go into this (except Anandtech), that is why I went with a Radeon to be sure I would be getting top notch image qaulity.

Yeah, 2ds shot must be shown in future articles. Personally, I think that firingsquad's accessment of leadtek's 2d was crap, since it is decent, but no where near matrox, ati, or gainward. Also, they have NO evidence to back up their claim in terms of screenshots.
