GF3, Ti or not to Ti, that is my question.

OK.. Whats the deal with the Titaniums? I know the Ti 200 is the more economy based card, like the MX was. At least thats what im told. But as for the Ti500..Is it better than the card I want, Gainward Cardexpert GF3? Is the Ti500 special in any way, or should I go with the normal GeForce3..

The Ti500 is currently the fastest card on the market. As far as the Geforce 3 Ti200, it is clocked slower than the regular Geforce3 but has a few new features (I don't know them), and is said to overclock very well. Best Buy is having a huge sale tomorrow at 7am, they have the Geforce3 Ti200 for $99 after mail in rebate (about half of what online price is). There's a huge thread in hot deals, and I got in on it (going to pricematch tomorrow), so you may want to check it out.

Nvidia just changed there naming of the Ultra and MX that were all used too. The GF3 T500 is a Higher core and memory version of the GF3. So basically its faster than what most GF3s can be overclocked to and it will clock even higher than its factory clock of 250 core 500 memory. If your not worried about benchmark scores than save the bucks and buy a GF3 or a T200.

If you want the real name comparison, then this is how I see it in my mind.
G2 MX = G2 Ti
G2 GTS = G3 Ti 200
G2 Pro = G3
G2 Ultra = G3 Ti 500

Just food for thought. I just get tired of people comparing the G3 Ti 200 to the G2 MX.

NO! MX is cripped GF2,
GF3 Ti200 is just lower clocked GF3, it's still a full featured GF3.
keep in mind, MX whatever is still a MX, is still a cripped GF2.
GF2 whatever is still a GF2 - does not support new DX 8.1 stuff.
GF3 whatever is really a GF3 - supports new DX 8.1 stuff.

tomorrow bestbuy $99 GF3 Ti200 is a superb deal while some MX whatever and GF2 whatever are still at $99 or more.
