GF3 and current T&L engines

Does the GF3 support the "old" t&l commands? Since they switched to the programmable unit I could imagine that they dropped support for the more generic commands that GF1 and GF2 supported...

Is anyone experiencing performance hits in games currently optimized for GF2??

GF3 can do everything the "old" hardwired T&L was capable of.
