After reading the GF3 roundup I'm somewhat concerned about the 2D quality I
can expect from my ASUS V8200. My NEC FE950+ is not tremendous at 19"; will
I suffer much? I have a huge collection of 32 bit, high res backgrounds -
and I don't think I could stand it if they looked better on my
current POS than my new GHz/GF3 dream machine.

What resolution do you generally run at?

Needless to say, NVidia cards generally don't exactly have very attractive 2D visual quality. This has improved somewhat with the GF3 but their still far from being that great in many cases.
Als, what video card are you currently using then you have a reference point from which to compare?

Well I tried to avoid the old S3 Savage cards as much as I could so I'm not terribly familiar with how the image quality was on them.
The 2D quality will at least be useable I'd imagine, just don't expected the sharpest text or anything else.
It probably won't look too much worse then your current card, but I'd advise you not to set your standards to high in terms of 2D or you may be in for a disappointment.

Perhaps someone else has a better idea of how the 2D image quality is on the old Savage 4 chipset.
