GF2mx200

uhh i have a gf2mx200

is it really necessary to update drivers?

also anyone know a cheap video card that i can get (play games at 800x600 medium quality, decent)?

Best card under $50 = gf3 or gf3 ti500
Best card under $100 = gf4 ti4200 - 4600, look in FS/FT forum.
Best card for $100-200 = radeon 9800 Pro

Unless there is some game that's crashing on you, not much reason to update. Your card won't get any faster.

what kind of a system you got now? If its a slow system it might not be worthwhile upgrading to a faster vidcard (except for the gf3, gf4 series)

Not "necessary" but it is recommended to use the latest drivers if your using the DirectX 9

How cheap of a video card are we talking here bud?

I recommend to upgrade to at least a 40.xx-series driver. 44.03 were pretty decent, as were 41.09. The canonical driver for that card is supposed to be the 38.82 or something like that, but it seems that the later drivers support more of the recent DirectX features. I recommend against the 56.xx drivers, the NView feature seems to have quite a few bugs.
