GF2MX and Compaq i810 problems

Just bought a Creative GeForce 2MX 32Mb SDRAM PCI card to upgrade my Compaq Presario 5474 which has the i810 onboard graphics.
The computer starts up but hangs at the end of W2K Pro startup picture.
Anyone have ideas? Is it necessary to disable the on-board graphics with jumpers or something.
I tried to disable the graphics from device mananger but it did not help either.

Running W2K Pro and Celeron 500
thanks

Problems solved. For other interested this is what I did.

1. Device Manager - Unistall i810 graphics driver.
2. shut down rig
3. Insert new card. Keep monitor cable in original VGA connector.
4. Reebot. W2K boots with 640*480 @256 colors. Finds both cards.
5. Install GF2MX drivers. Note! It installed drivers for NT4!! So reinstall manually right after.
6. Reboot
7. Now there is a dual monitor setup. can be confusing when all folders and menus are on the 'other monitor'

Intel Celeron 500MHz
192Mb
W2K Pro
Creative GeForce2MX 32MB SDRAM PCI

2303 points in 3DMark2000. Not that bad. I am happy.
Maybe new detonator drivers will improve a bit more?
