Hey all-

What is the best way to keep the memory on my GeForce 2 GTS cool? I'm working on overclocking it and I have it at 375 now, although I'm trying to push it higher -- at 385 Win98 does wierd stuff and I get lots of graphical errors. Any advise?

Thanks,
Tim.

If you look at the way they cool the GF2 ULTRA, you can see that they simply add long/skinny heatsinks that span across all the ram.
that's all I'd do.. maybe some paste with the heatsink..

Guess you don't trust me eh, Hawk? Hmm...if you have an old Slot heatsink lying around, you can cut that up...heatsinks really do squat on a video card.

Thanks all --

Groove- Ya, I trust ya, was just trying to see what other idea people had for cooling the RAM because im working on OC'ing it now instead of the core.

Moving Target might be able to help you in the Heatsink department:D He has without a doubt the most modded out(and heaviest) GeForce I have ever seen. I'm working on pics.

Ram sinks, some ppl told me long time ago "Ram sinks dont do anything because they have different structure then cpus". Well, i've put some ramsinks on and it helped to clock higher with less artifacts. If i remember, they didnt even have heatsinks on CPU during early 386 days and as clock speed went higher and it used more voltage it was neccesary to keep cpu cooler. And with current bottleneck on memory both on video card and Mother board, they are clocking memory speed higher and u can see that Ram on video cards with higher speeds ger really warm. I wouldnt be surprised if they even have fans for memory later on. Or maybe they should design boards with GPU and Memory closer together with same height so they can put one big fat heatsink and fan covering both gpu and ram. damn i talked too much,, well im just saying ram sinks help.
