I never gave a flying fuck about HP. But it looks like I'm gonna get dragged in.

Well, it's not a chick flick at least. What should I know about? Isn't it crap? I sure as hell ain't watching all the movies.... maybe I'll just read movie wikis...

[edit]
Surprisingly all 6 HP movies got a fresh rating at RT... all 80%+. Interesting.

If you were any kind of a man, you would say no and let your gf go with her friends instead. That's of course, if you don't want to go.

if you don't want to watch the movies, listen to the audio books. your local library probably has them , to check out, for free

It's a movie. That's about all I know. Make sure to see it in 2D if that's an option.

y'know my favorite Harry Potter story - it's the one where he's at home and is mistreated by his aunt and uncle and then gets drawn into the world of magic...

\that story was the best.

My neighbor's kid was running around with a Harry Potter costume. I walked up and said, "Wow, you really want to be like Harry Potter, don't you?" He says, "Yeah!" So I killed his parents and locked him under my staircase.

You should just suck it up and do it because (1) the Harry Potter movies are not bad at all, and (2) it's a little thing you can do that would make her happy.

You will want to get familiar with the story before jumping into the last movie, however.

The Harry Potter movies are some of my favorite movies period. I don't really like movies much, but I'll make a point to see all the HPs(In my house. I don't like theatres)

Out of all the movies I've been dragged to, the Harry Potter movies were about the best. Yes, they're aimed at kids, but they're also quite well done.

I still wouldn't go out of my way to see them, but having seen four of them now, I wouldn't balk if someone asked me to tag along.

i don't like the harry potter franchise at all really, but i can stomach sitting through a movie and just enjoying a movie for movie's sake. they're not *that* bad.

Say what you want about the franchise, but the movies were actually pretty decent I thought. Good production value and they stayed true to the books and didn't change much.

The first couple were ok, but too kiddy cause the actors were little kids at the time. The rest have been good, though I felt the last one was pretty emo.

I watched them all for the first time a few months ago, Amazon UK special for 1-6 on bluray for like $28 usd. Then saw the latest in the theater.

Just go, you may like it. Could be a lot worse, my GF wanted me to go see some surfer girl movie last week, luckily I talked us into seeing Hangover 2.

The Harry Potter series is actually very good, for kids AND adults. It's this generation's Star Wars.
