GF going to London tomorrow, any suggestions for her?

She is going to be there for a week, neither of us have been there so i dont have much to suggest. Any suggestions for calling back to the US? Anything going on in the next week? Any tours that are "can't miss"'s?
Thanks.

Tower of London.... which has the crown jewels
The london bridge is just beside tower of london so you might as well see that as well

Beefeaters at Tower of London give the best tours in the city.

Also, take tons of money. London is expensive nowdays since our dollar isn't worth a crap.

Piccadilly circus is a must along with a West end show of some sort.

Taxis are expensive, use the tube (with a day rider ticket).

Trafalgar Square, walking Jack the Ripper Tours of London, the London Dungeon, Tower of London, Changing of the guard (when I went they played a beatles song lol)

If I think of more I'll post again. Just watch out London is definitely expensive!

Get an Underground pass for the day. It's much cheaper.
Get a calling card. They're available all over the place, and it's much cheaper.

I would see the following:

Westminster Abbey, Eye of London (boo to those who say it's just a tourist trap--it's fun), go by Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus (if you like shopping), Tower of London, Tower Bridge (it's not the London Bridge as most people think, it's the Tower Bridge), and any of the museums. Get a map and you'll find everything on there along with the Underground station.

There are a lot of great restaurants, and a lot of great pubs with fantastic beers.

You wouldn't go to Piccadilly Circus for shopping.

For designer stuff go to Bond Street (Central Line) For normal retail stuff like gap, fcuk, zara etc etc go to Oxford/Regent St. (Oxford Circus on Bakerloo &/or Victoria Line IIRC).

Oh also if you wanna go to where all the movie premieres happen, go to Leicester Square.

For good BBQ go to Bodeans - its on Poland St. near Oxford Circus.

A lot of stuff happening around victoria street/station and oxford, have her take a walk up the streets and take in the shops and restaurants. A lot of nice shopping to do on oxford. Have her go through Green Park (right near Buckingham) and it will lead through to Oxford. For Pubs/Clubs, The Elusive Camel is nice little pub near Victoria Station. For clubs On Anon, Oneils,Retox. Also there is an assigned seat movie theater in Lexon(sp) square. Lexon(sp) square also has some nice museams and night life as well.

Oh ya, definately get a underground day pass its much much cheaper. You can find calling cards anywhere as well.

And have her try Snakebite Black.... its freakin awesome. (Strongbow cider, Beer (i usually had Carlsberg), and Blackberry Current)

I remember at least getting off at the Piccadilly Circus to go shopping. I could have sworn that's where all the shops were.

Ahh well...

Snakebite is now illegal - you have to order it a two separate drinks then mix it yourself
