my trusty old duron 700mhz was getting me 1ghz but its finally time i upgrade. my GF will take my duron rig as its still perfectly fine for email and intarweb. i need help on a few parts for my new machine

A64 3000 or 3200 - how do i tell the CG from C0, i don't see the AXBOX and ARBOX designation on newegg anymore, only see ADA3000AEP4AX. with air cooling, whats the average speed that i can over clock these too. if they overclock about the same, i'll get the 3000 and save a bit.

Zalman CNPS7000ACu - its a dollar difference between the AlCu and pure Cu, might as well spend that dollar, since my GF is buying.

1 gig of memory - i want to overclock, should i stick with pc3200 or go with pc3500? i don't think i saw any PC3500 for the likes of crucial/corsair/mushkin. but i didn't look that hard so i could be wrong.

i need a recommendation on the best overclocking motherboard. i hear good things about MSI but also bad things. i read good things about the Chaintec and its pretty cheap too.

160gig Seagate SATA HD

6800GT - which brand should i get, should i just go with whatever i can find in stock?

Antec P160 case

Antec 430 (or 480, i forget) True Power from old machine.

DVD & DVDR from old machine

old keyboard

Logitech MX510 mouse

did i miss anything? thanks in advance.

ATHLON 64 is ideal for gaming, and forthcoming 64-bit computing.

6800GT is superb choice, and the actual performances of various brands are very close.

How about your display? it seems you didn't mention that.

Seems really fine. You're a lucky man. My GF would NEVER, I repeat, NEVER buy me a computer. She would LEND me money for me to buy it, but never give it to me.

thanks for your advice, but it doesn't help much since its a one-size-fit-all deal. i need to choose between A64 3000+ and 3200+ , pc3200 and pc3500 memory, and between chaintec and epox mobo. does any actual owners of these parts have any input?

Go with the Chaintech vnf3-250, unless you need the onboard gigabyte LAN or really really want a hardware firewall. Go with the 2800+ and PC3200 ram if you don't care about overclocking and the 3000+ and http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-156-012&depa=0 , if you do want to over clock.

P.S. What would posses your GF to buy you a gaming computer? Does she know what's going to happen when you get Doom III / Half Life 2?
