GF 5700 256mb - better than Radeon 9700Pro

Hey,

A friend is building a computer - and he wants to put a GF4 5700 256mb card in it. I anm suggesting a Radeon 9700 Pro. Which is faster/better??

9700P >>> 5700. Tell your friend not to be so easily fooled by marketing numbers like 256MB RAM or AGP 8x or DX9. Benchmark numbers in the games he plays are all that count.

9700pro is still (i think) the best bang for the money!!!.........tbh i reckon Nvidia still havent beaten this card and its goin on 2 years old!! they may have faster cards, but their DX9 sucks and they cost alot more

there is no way in hell a 128bit memory bus is ever gonna get close to the 256bit of the 9700pro

It's actually a GeForce FX5700... not a GeForce4 5700. But a 9700 Pro would be faster.
