Hi guys, I'm new to this forum but I've been browsing these forums for quite some time now...

Just a question, is the Leadtek A360 TD (GFX 5700 non ultra) faster than a Gainward GF4 TI4400?
I might be getting the 5700 but the price of the GF ti is cheaper...just wondering if there is a big performance difference between the 2...
considering the fx5700 is non-ultra...

thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums. FYI the main Anandtech site has many hardware comparison reviews like this one

A ti4200 or 4400 is still a great card (especially a ti4200 for under $100) but the fx5700 is faster.

However, in the US prices of the fx 5900 non-ultra cards now start at around $180, so instead of buying a 5700 you should buy a 5900 instead.

They run about the same :) ... I too would go the FX5900 .. infact i did :) from a Ti4200 and its more then fast enough.

If you dont wanna spend the money then you should buy a Geforce4Ti or ATI9600 Pro or XT

thanks for the replies!

usually I only see benchmarks of the 5700 ultra, not the non-ultra....so I knida don't know where the non-ultra stands...
but actually here in asia, the leadtek a360td (5700) and the a280 td (gf4 ti 4200) are actually priced the same...

so i guess the 5700 is a better option ;-)

and the fx5900nu is double the cost of the 5700nu..

thanks again ;-)

The 5700 is the best card for you then.
The 5900 nu is faster, but not worth double!

so is it safe to assume that the geforce fx5700 non-ultra is faster than a ti4200 and ti4400? how about the ti4600?

We were talking about a 5700 ultra -- for non-ultra you'll need to see how far the graphics / memory clock speeds have been lowered and guess how much slower it will be.

From those benchmarks the 5700nu is faster than a ti4200 (you can compare it to some of the same benchmarks in the Anandtech budget-card article) so for the same price, get the 5700.

It's hard to tell for the ti400 and ti4600, but if they are priced as high as a 5700 ultra than the ultra is probably a better choice.
