I have a brochure for a free Coffee for Two coffee maker (fills two travel mugs at same time) if you buy $14.95 worth of coffee (mail order). Anyone done this?

Actually here, found same offer online.

sure! I've got the cuisinart grind and brew coffee maker from them about 2 yrs ago, it was a great deal, the coffee maker was $139 at the time, I am still using it. Just remember to cancel your membership a month or so later or they will keep sending you coffee and charge it to your credit card.

I did it, and it's legit. I got a free coffeemaker with timer and 2 mugs, plus 2 packages of coffee for like $14. It's very expensive after that so make sure to cancel.

coffees ok, but expensive, better off with a french press pot you can buy at your local store target or whatever for about the same. drip machines are just lousy.

Sorry, I did a search but forgot to check archives. I read a few. One person said his french press makes coffee with stuff in it. Another said he prefers the taste of his drip maker over his french press.

The link I posted earlier doesn't show the correct offer for some reason. Go here.
The promo's I'm looking at are 105418 and 166272. Anyone know who about these or who makes them? If only making say 4 cups with the 12 cup maker, will it taste right?

Heh. It's funny some people say the coffee is great, some say it sucks. I know now it's legit. I'm just wondering about the maker you get, as I mentioned above.

I have one and it is a very high-quality coffee maker with timer. I thought the coffee was excellent but spendy. They were very responsive and friendly when I called to cancel. I have certainly done the French press thing quite a bit over the years, but I prefer coffee made in a quality drip maker with a Melitta-style cone filter (which my Gevalia pot has). French presses are a pain to clean, and the coffee has to be very coarsely ground to avoid getting a ton of grounds in it. IMO if you use a very fine grind in a drip pot, you get better results.

I grow and roast coffee.
Gevalia coffee is not that good.
The coffee maker is fine. All it has to do it drop heated water over the grinds.
Generally the best coffee maker is considered to be a profession Bunn drip coffee maker liek the kind that is used to brew swill in offices across America. French press is also fine. What makes a difference in coffee is the quality of beans and how long ago they were roasted. I roast my own, so I never have coffee that has been roasted over a week.

They use 100% Arabicas in their blends and the coffee is vacuum packed.

Not all Arabica is good.
Blended coffeee is never the finest quality.
Vacuum packing doesn't preserve much, but folks think it does, so it is a good marketing strategy for the uninitiated.
