getto rigged HeatSink and Fan

check this out. This is what happends when you forget to get a new heatsink and fan.

CPU: 1.3Ghz P4
RAM: 256MB 600Mhz RDRAM
HDD: 2 SCSI drives
Video: Geforce 2 MX400
Running windows 98

all for a price for $60

PS. Getto Rigging skills form buying and building a jeep.

A for effort.

What exactly is that HSF on anyway? Doesn't look like a cpu but more of a video card? If I'm not mistaken.

no thats the CPU heatsink. The CPU and heatsink came with my dell but didnt have a fan on the heatsink they used shoot to cover it. and move the air out the back. But when we moved the CPU and HS into this new system we needed a fan so i took a 60mm High speed fan out of another system of mine and rigged it up.

I've replaced lots of 60mm fans on heatsinks with 80mm fans. I drill a hole in each corner of the HS and then use the zip ties to strap the fan on. Looks ugly, but works.

Actually no, smart ass, it looks like a fan on a chip set to me, do you honestly visually see a CPU socket behind freaken thing?
