Getting ZoneAlarm (or another free firewall) to work w/ an ad-hoc network

I have ZoneAlarm set up on a computer that hosts an ad-hoc network. Using windows internet sharing, it transmit the LAN internet to a wifi PCI card for my laptop. It won't work when ZoneAlarm is running. Can zonealarm, or another free firewall, be configured to allow my laptop access? It works fine when i shut-down zonealarm.
