I just had all 4 taken out 2 months ago. They gave me an oral sedative an hour before the procedure. I was supposed to be awake for the surgery but I guess I either passed out or the sedative made made me forget the procedure. The only thing I remember is getting novacaine and the doctor struggling to yank one tooth out for a split second.

The next thing I knew I was awake with gauze in my mouth. It was pretty annoying for the next few days as my mouth was oozing and bloody. I ate solid food after a week.

Doc prescribed Vicodin and I needed it every 3 or 4 hours. The sedation cost 150 out of pocket as it was not covered by insurance.

Update:

These holes in my gums are annoying as fuck. Its almost impossible to eat anything without getting food stuck in there. Apparently the holes are deep too. I had a piece of meat stuck there and I pulled it out and it was like an inch.

^ Some people are freaks (or liars) and say that they were eating solid food the next day.

I only got 1 out, and I didn't eat anything for like 3 days, and then ate mushy food for the next week. There was no way in hell I could have chewed solid food. Eating in general was a total pain in the ass because it would just irritate the wound and cause blood leakage and make the stitches work their way out early. I just looked at it as a good opportunity to do some caloric restriction.

EDIT: Looks like you're saying the wounds have healed but you still have holes, since your surgery was so long ago. Dunno... will probably fill in. As long as you don't have a dry socket or infection you're probably good.

You need the syringe for cleaning out the sockets: mix of warm water, hydrogen peroxide and Listerine
