Hello there

I just bought Radeon 8500 retail but have slight problems, every now and then I get graphical bug lines on my monitor
they arent actually any specific color , they kinda flash horizontally and go away. This is really bugging since I didint have
any problems with my last card geforce3 ti200.

The lines are about 0.5cms high and you can definetly spot em since they flash once in about 5-10 seconds..
on normal desktop i rarely get em. But when I suft the net or watch pictures with outlook express i get em all the time.

I have tryed several different drivers but no help at all.

One thing is quite weird too, my drivers inform that I have 350 ramdac , shoudnt Radeon 8500 retail have 400 ramdac?

the made in chine mark in the box isnt too convincing either :)

my spec:
1400tb only multiplier risen no FSB overclocking
windows XP
samsung 959nf
epox 8kha+
radeon 8500 retail
fortissimo2
512 ddr ram

That's weird about the RAMDAC being only 350 MHz. However, all nVidia cards make due with this; that should not be the problem (although it is perhaps a lower quality one on that card). Are you sure it's the video card and not the monitor? Are you overclocking? What drivers do you use? Have you used this monitor with any other cards, or tried it now that you're getting these problems?

I have a refurbished-monitor that does similar stuff (usually it's just bad flickering). At first I thought it was my V3 card, but it did it with any card I found out...

It appears that the ramdac 350 was false information and I do have 400ramdac ..

Mayby I checked wrongly , but the horizontal lines still bug me.

I found out that these problems have been happening with other finish fellows as well in muropaketti.com

They said that the problem is with epox 8kha+ motherboard which i have, the newest bios update should fix it , but havent tryed yet.

Other sources said that this has been only with the DVI connector but the lines are happening with my VGA connector too

Maybe try another driver, I would recommend the 6043 set, find it at the Rage3D forums.
