Green software I use:

- ThrottleStop (useful for notebooks with poor thermal management)
- Macs Fan Control for Windows and OS X for cool temps
- Apple script for OS X which automatically unmounts the HDD on login so only the SSD runs (silence!)
- NvidiaInspector for locking down clockspeeds for cooler operation for the dGPU

Going green from a hardcore rig is pretty tough, my i7 3770s motherboard needs replacing and i have been stuck using my spare x4 9150e rig.9150e is old sure but pretty much a 65w quad core was bad ass back in 2008.

Biochock 1 is about as modern a game as i can run as a gamer on here, nvidias 337.50 driver gave some new life to it but BF3/BF4 pretty much make me want to put a fist into my monitor lol. 19-61fps in BF4 with a average of around 35 is about it can deliver.

Guess i could understand the Ops quest to see how much you can gain out of little tdp wise, i like experimenting with downlocking to compare to older hardware or see how cool my rig could run with certain clocks enabled.

Since I just need a basic tertiary (or perhaps even quadiary (is that even a word? :hmm:)) PC running windows, preferably as cheap and portable as possible, I might just advance those plans a bit. Thank you.

This thing only costs 250DKK more then a windows licence after all. You don't get much hardware for 250DKK ($41 US). Maybe a Celeron/AM1 Athlon or a 4GB stick of RAM if you're lucky... :D

The word you are looking for us quaternary, not quadiary ;)
