Could Someone Offer any Suggestions Here?

I am running my IC7-non-g; Kingston HyperX PC3500 512MB X 2 in Dual Channel; manual settings in BIOS with timings of 2-3-2-5 & ULTRA Performance setting; a P4c 2.4Ghz at Stock Speed with N/B Strap option to PSB800. CPU is run with HT enabled. In XP Pro with SP1a, I run Sandra Memory Bandwidth Benchmark and the highest # I got was 4686MB?s. But now I consistently get around 4630. I have the 1.13 IC7 Bios.

I?m kind of surprised/disappointed with such memory scores. I was expecting higher, or is this the norm for this Memory and stock CPU speed? I do plan on O?Cing my system this weekend, but haven?t done so yet. I hear of some people getting up to or around 5900MB Sandra Scores with their rigs, but would I only get these numbers with a higher CPU speed? Or do I need Memory timings like 2-2-2-5 to get #?s like this?

And since I?m a bit new to O?Cing as well, if I?m only getting around 4630 average now, If I O?C will that # go down as when I change the FSB divider for O?Cing?

Thanks

What is your fsb and memory ratio? The actual speed you run your memory at will determine the bandwidth it has. (Who has 5900?)

Well I'm not sure now If I should be bummed out or not. I heard folks getting around 5000 for Mem scores for this Board. Do you know, if when I O'C my system and then I have to set the FSB divider to the 5:4 position, will the Sandra MEM scores go up or down usually?

Thanks

P.S. I think also before I start to O'C I might try out the IC7 Beta Bios 1.14 and see if that makes any diffrence. We'll see.......

I'll post my scores when I got home, but I got somewhere around 5800 when I OC'd my P4 2.6 C to ~270 FSB with a 5:4 divider for DDR 434 @ 2-3-3-7 (2 x 512 Corsair XMS 3500C2). At stock with 2-3-3-6 DDR 400 (can't run tighter timings for some odd reason) I believe it was around 5000 but not below. I think you should be getting higher scores for sure.

Note: System was not stable at 270 (~3525MHz) but I was able to run SiSoft Sandra to see how much memory bandwidth was there (it would crash with Prime95 x 2 and specperf)

Well an update for anyone who may be interested:

On sunday I discoverd that the second 512MB DIMM of Kingston Hyper X PC3500 is defective. I ran Memtest-86 all day to isolate the problem to just this module and make 100% sure it wasn't my Motherboard. Perhaps this could be why I have been getting lower than I had hoped for Sandra Mem scores when running my IC7 in dual Channel mode?

Anyone have a opinion on this.

Do you think getting a Failing address/Failing Bit in a DDR Stick would affect a Sandra Mem score?
