Anyone know of the possibilites of getting tickets to a game? Are they next to impossible, or is it actually a possibility of getting one? I know a year or two ago there really was little chance, but how about now?

And this is post #5000!

Why not call the ticket booth and ask "Can I get tickets to A giants game"

Why not post here and ask about the availability.

You might have more luck (and just maybe get a more definitive answer) if you were to just call the ticket office.

a) I'd be on hold for about 20 hours.
b) The phone is a 13-second walk from here.
c) I could get just as a definitive answer here.

well, it looks like you're not getting a definitive answer. so why don't you go over to ticketmaster.com and find out? you won't even have to get up

Because I reply to nuisances like yourself? Sir? If that's not right do tell me why, I'm very interested myself.

Because you waste your fricken life on a forum asking if its hard to go to a Giants game when your lazy ass can't simply call or even go to their website.

I mean, you might as well legally change your name to GoldenBear, lock yourself up in a room, and lay dormant posting the days away.

What do you think the chances of getting them on the day of the game are?

GoldenBear,
I've already been to a few Giants games and everytime I always see scalpers selling tickets. Look out by McCovey Cove just before you enter the stadium. You'll find plenty for sure.

That's cool. I'll have to try that sometime..I have some people coming over from Houston, and they really want to check out the ballpark.

Actually I think you're the lazy one here. Why don't you go outside and insult people, or even more convieniently, dial '0' or '411' and start finding people there to criticize? But no, you choose to sit in that computer chair of yours and whatnot.

GB - Funny you ask about this, as I was supposed to go to the last two nights games (night summer school........is suck :( ).

Anyways, what you do is go scalp your tickets on the first day. If you need to save some money, get them during the 2nd inning. If not, get them for the start. But the trick is buying from the scalper not only for *that* days game, but for the next day as well. This is exactly what happened yesterday.

My friends went to the night game and bought tickets from a scalper durinf the 2nd innning, and then got four box seats for todays game at $20 a p0p. He usually sells them at $40, but since they nbought them early, they got them cheaper.

have fun :)

Ooh, sounds intriguing.

How good were your tickets? I don't imagine these guys sell luxury suite passes..

scalpers always have to get some $ out of their tickets - if you wait until the 2nd inning, you can probably get some good deals.

this is what you do, being a giants fan also.

you can try to get your tickets online at www.tickets.com. type in san francisco giants. you get to the same site if you go to the giants website and click on their schedule and then click on the buy on tickets link.

if they don't have tickets available for the game you want, you can try to get day of game tickets. what you do is three hours before game time 500 pre numbered wristbands will be given out to those 14 and older. if you have a lot of friends, spread yourself out through the line. you only need one wristband to buy four tickets (i think, this might have changed) they will draw a number and from there they will sell tickets. so if they draw 352, all numbers from 352 to 500 will get first crack at tickets, and then they start over at 1. best thing is to get there early and spread yourself through the line. they guarantee five hundred tickets before the game. these are bleachers seats and only 7 bucks. they may have some other seats available and you can purchase those also. this is the way i got into the ballpark last summer.

you can also go to the SF giants website, click on fan forum, and look for a thread title "tickets for sale/june" or whatever months are up. they have people selling tickets.

on the sf giants website you can also go to the "double play window" that's where season ticket holders who are not going to certain games can sell their tickets to someone else for face value.

there's also always ebay.

have fun at the game. go giants. :)

oh and i suggest NOT driving if you can avoid it. parking is 15 bucks.

So is there any "proper" way to find the "best" scalpers? I'd imagine some offer better seats and better deals than others..
