Error Message

I've been trying to setup my computer for file sharing for a week now..
Using XP Pro w/ SP1, cable connection, etc..

I've read through several threads on here, the 'Basic Networking' guide on XP file sharing/permissions/etc..
Everything I've tried has failed and gives me the above message when I try to access my own shared folders using My Network Places - and tells everyone else on my network that my shares arent accessible..prompting for a username and password.

Bleh..I've exhausted my resources.
I have Guest account turned on...I tried using Simple and Advanced file sharing with XP...I dont use a router or anything (connect through a hub with another PC in my house to my cable modem).
sigh, could anyone give me suggestions? I honestly have no idea whats going on - I get that same message trying to access any computer in my workgroup.
Any help is appreciated.. =/

Can you access shared files between any other computers on your network? If so, you may have a bad port on your hub. Try moving the machine to another port if there are any open.

I get that same message when I try to access any computer in my workgroup...and seemingly every other workgroup.
Err, I didnt try all of them of course - but I repeatedly got that same message trying to access different workgroups. Ehh, there was one workgroup however - that said "Network path does not exist".

Just to be sure..I changed ports on my hub like you suggested Carp. No effect..
I'm not sure if this is significant or not - but when I went into my computer via My Network Places - I was able to access my shared printer and shared tasks - but any folder I tried to share besides those was inaccessible. Bleh..

I get the exact same message when hooking up a XP pro Machine with a XP home machine.

Only thing is I get the message when I click MSHOME to show me all computer in that workgroup.

This is getting real frustrating and I'm running out of smokes :/

All help will be greatly appreciated

Tried to view the error message, but it's gone 404. What's the error? I could probably help if I knew.

I was on the phone with the guy when he was deleting all of Jyncus' stuff off the FTP. Thought he'd put it back after they "made up" but I guess it was gone for good. Anyway, he got sick of it and formatted / reinstalled, restoring his access to shares and such.
