Getting the most out of my X-Fi soundcard

With the drivers came this AWESOME software for tweaking the music in a number of ways. One of my favorites is the one where it simulates a musical hall with the proper acoustics.

Its under Entertainment Mode and EAX effects.

Can I get it to switch to "Royal Hall" whenever I open iTunes? Unfortunately, I have an iPod (as a gift), and cannot switch to another player. Thank you.

That would be nice if there was an app that changed the card's setting based on what program you were launching. But then what would happen if you had two differently customized programs open at the same time?

Take a look at X-Fi Mode Changer (XFMC). I suppose you should at least be able to leave Entertainment mode with the EAX effect enabled but use another by mode by default without effects. XFMC could then switch mode when the application was launched/closed.

This looks good- going to give it a try 🙂
