Getting the highest resolution of my screen

I have owened a PCV-LX810 Sony Vaio for a few yeats now.

It seems as of now I can only reach up to 1024x768 on my 15" TFT screen.

HOWEVER, it says the max on this linked webpage that the max can be "up to 1280 x 960 resolution".

How do I get it that high? Do I need to download new drivers?

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

It shouldn't be a driver problem, might they be talking about the newest revisions of that monitor?

So are you saying maybe I am already maxed out at that resolution of 1024x768?

This is an old computer that I got in 2001, I doubt they would revise it recently?
