What are some settings to get your videocard to perform at its best.. looking at its best?

I have an ATI Radeon 8500LE (128MB).. I want to try to get the most out of it.

Thanks

I've got the same card and I'll tell you that there was no noticable difference in performance between the current catalyst 3.8 and catalyst 3.2 or whatever was back months and months ago. The performance increases for this card has stopped. That being said, though, I can still play the newest games like Halo and Max Payne 2 and Battlefield at reasonable frame rates.

Just keep AA off, turn Anisotropic all the way up.

EDIT: Depending on what brand card you have and what speed memory you have, you might be able to flash your card to a retail non-LE bios, which gave my old 8500LE 64mb a decent boost in speed.

Yea I havn' noticed any performance increase with new drivers..except on one driver.. Some stuff was disapearing.

BTW, I have RTCW : Enemy Territory.. and I get pretty good bit of lag on that game. I was playing in 32 player server though.. but I didn't think it should lag too much. But it did. :-/ I am gonna get a better videocard soon.. btw.. does having 256mb of ram probably the reason for the lag?
