This always happens when it gets cold down here... It was low 40's this morning here in FL....

Sore throat, bad headache, cold sweats, coughing....

Anything to help ward it off before it gets full blown?

best thing to do... start taking Airborne or Zycam or Cold-eze religiously (it really does work) get a good super strength multi vitamin and drink LOTS of water.

also, don't pysch yourself out thinking about getting sick.

Finally, get a few shots of whiskey or brandy in a little pot on med heat. add the juice of one whole lemon and two tablespoons of honey.
Stir until they are all combind and drink while still hot.
It helps!

Zicam. Helps prevent colds. Cuts my colds from a week down to 3 or 4 days if I do get them.

aphex, I live in same area as you and am just now getting over whatever is going around. The only thing you can do is treat the symptoms and wait for your body to build up a resistance to the bug. I haven't had much of a sore throat because I have been taking something to stop the runny nose which attributes to the soar throat. Good Luck and hang in there.

I'm dealing with it too. I drink O.J. all day and then a snifter of Grand Marnier at night (Grand Ma). It helps clear the sinuses and also helps to sleep through the pain of migrane and sore throat.

I usually stay in bed and finish ~ a gallon of Orange Juice throughout the day. I usually take some Nyquil so I can fall asleep for the whole day.

Drink Cranberry Juice(Ocean Spray Cranberry Cocktail recommended) and eat some cloves of garlic (chew very carefully, practice makes perfect). You definitely don't want to cheeze on the Vitamin C, whatever the source.
