getting shot in the head

people have survived all kinds of ****** happening to their heads, getting shot, getting impaled etc

so what happens when you get shot in the head....do you die instantly? or are you kind of still ticking for a few minutes untill everything shuts down?

My cousin was shot in the head, and he survived. He didn't remember a thing, so it's hard to say if he felt it. He was out cold after it happened and then was in a coma for weeks.

Try it and let us know the result. It would be a good idea to have a reply window open already to speed up the whole posting process.

a police officer got shot in the head in our city around 2 months ago. I know he is already out of the hospital and may be starting back to work soon.

sorry i dont live in america, no guns for me

id imagine if knocks you out cold till you wake up in the hospital, if you wake up. but if you could feel it, i bet it stings like a mother ******

It depends on what part of the Brain is hit. If it is the area that controls breathing, and heart beats, then insta death.

If you were alive for a bit you wouldn't feel anything. Not only are there no pain receptors in the brain but the body will go into shock for extreme injuries like that. Now if it just grazed the skull you would probably feel that.

The brain itself does not have pain receptors which is the reason for brain surgery they try to keep patient's awake. As far as a wound going through the skull....I'd imagine it'd hurt pretty bad. Although I've heard stories of people walking into ERs with knives sticking out of their head.

There are many possibilities. The bullet could not penetrate the skull and just cause superficial damage. It could penetrate the skull on entry and not have enough energy to penetrate on exit causing the bullet to ricochet inside the grey matter a bit. This would probably kill you but might just severely impair your brain functions. The brain is a complicated thing and it is difficult to predict exactly what will cause death. Look at a lobotomy. They actually remove part of the brain and the person is still able to function to live. It all depends on various factors that make it difficult to predict the exact outcome.

Yea it depends on where you are shot. we had a guy put a 9mm to his nose and pull the trigger....took more than a few plastic surgeries and 2 months in the hospital but he walked out of there.

The best headshot occurs when a large caliber weapon is placed in the mouth and pointed towars the brain.

I remember an episode of cops when a man tried this with a .22 and lived. He managed to call 911 with a mouth full of blood, almost no teeth and a small exit wound at the back of his head. When the cops showed up he was still alive and in pain.

I have had two friends involved in car accidents where injury to the head was involved. A lot of swelling occurs. One died. The other lost her senses of smell and taste and short term memory and still, 4 years later, has frequent headaches and sometimes blurry vision.

I saw a thing on TV once about a kid that was hit by a stray bullet in a drive by. a .357mag round hit him in the head. It blew out half his brain. He recovered as much as one could with that type of damage. He was paralyzed on one half of his body, but he went on to graduate college with honors. apparently the side of his brain that was removed controlled all of his creative thinking processes, so he had no imagination and all his brain power went into intelligence.

:cookie: that made me lol for some reason

on a serious note, i guess it depends on where exactly you got shot in the head, where the bullet goesm and if you go into shock or whatever.

BOOM HEADSHOT!!!!!

Lol sorry just had to say it.

I'd be curious to know this too, Why don't you try it out and let us know the results.

I guess it depends where you get shot an how powerful the gun. You can lose certain parts of the brain and still function. I was grazed in the head during a hunting accident and the doctor said the only thing I may experience is some mood swings... SO GET OUT OF HERE YOU F$#(&$kING C#$*&NT SH$&%t WITH THESE STUPID FREKAING POSTS.
