"Two 25 lb hand weights"

Picked up the weights, paid in cash, and then when I get home I realize that the weights are not 25lb, to me they felt like 17lb, and that's with everything, plates, bar, end pieces. Seller originally said he'd exchange the eight 2.5lb plates for eight 5lb plates. Now all of a sudden he emails me and says, "Did you weigh the bar and the connection pieces. That all combines to 25 pounds. It's not just the plates. Sorry, no refund or extra plates needed."

So I emailed him back with a part by part weight tally which comes to 18.25lb, but I have a feeling that he's going to continue to get dickish about this.

And... he is.

"I thought you said they were 17 pounds? And how did you get the weight for the bar and the end pieces?"

Put them back on sale to recoup your losses.

You could also start a thread with this same title in L&R.

Throw them through his front window. You won't get your money back but you'll feel $30 better.

Did you fail math AND common sense in college? How can you not read the weight that is stamped on the discs themselves when you pickup the goods? For dead weight that are interchangeable, the bars and whatever end pieces don't count toward the total weight. Good thing it's just chump change, but still the seller probably laughed his ass off when he sold you the weights.

Ps. How the fuck did you become the L&R mod, is this some kinda joke? You're like the #1 poster in that forum!

Your last sentence is a Mod callout and has nothing to do with the thread.

guyver01 was vacationed for a similar comment in Sagalore's wedding thread.
He received two weeks because he went after 2 Mods.

This is a single Mod callout - one week.

So if you don't love this seller, you're going to have to change your sig.

Not all weights have the weight printed on em. I use to have some old school ones that were blank. A better question to ask is why is he buying 25lb weights?

From the photos, they look pretty new to me. Even weight I bought 10 years ago have the weight stamped on the side of the discs. I mean it would be really stupid to buy weights without unit of measure printed/stamped on them, how do you tell how much weight you're training with?

Don't buy stuff on sites like craigslist or ebay. Never know who has a trick up their sleeve waiting to screw you. For small stuff like weights it's sometimes worth the risk, but don't get pissed if you do get screwed as the chances are quite high. It's not like it's a store selling it where they have to honor returns/warranties etc.

Did you not get what was pictured?

there's 4x5's and 2x2.5's on the dumbbells.

How did you not notice this when you...saw them?
