Hey there,

I just installed and uninstalled Visual Studio .Net. And now I get this really annoying welcome screen that I never got before that asks me which account to log on to. Why is this coming up now? Can I get rid of it? My PC used to just load everything without ever asking for anything!!!

Thanks!!

I just read on the MS site that if you only have one account and don't have a password for it, it can auto logon...but I have some other account called SQL Debugger...any idea what that is?!

Thanks!!!

It's a debugging account for Visual Studio. Here's a Microsoft

KB article that will show you how to fix the problem. It says .NET framework in the article but it applies to this too.

Thanks for your help everyone. I really appreciate it.

Having that extra account doesn't screw anything up, does it? Doesn't make things slower or what not, right? Just an annoyance probably.

Thanks

Thanks All, I just fixed the same problem thanks to this thread, I spent some time last night trying to get rid of the logon screen after I Installed Drive Image 7 which requires .Net1.1. I thought I would have to put up with it, but no more, ITS Gone!

Powertoys for XP also has an option that lets you autologon an account of your choice when windows boots up...its pretty convenient.
