Getting rid of password.

Ihave inherited a pc that has a password set ( which I know) just before the
Windows splash. I think it can be gotten rid of in the bios but I can't see
where.
How do I get rid of it?

If it's in the BIOS, you'll need to clear the CMOS chip by shorting the jumpers near the battery on the mobo. The exact procedure varies by PC. What kind is it?

Generic Pc...motherboard is an Intel SE440BX-2

Sometimes just removing the battery will reset the bios - you might have to find the jumpers that clear the cmos
