i've seen the suggestions on previous pages and i've tried so far: 1. switching to family and windows log ons with no luck. 2. i've gotten rid of all the "pwl files" i could find in the registry. 3. i've rebooted and hit the "enter" key five times (after the log on window appears) for each change that i've made; (total of 15 boot cycles). none of them worked. any other suggestions for getting rid of that log on message? i would even wipe and slice the hdd if that would do it.

Try this:

1) Delete the XXXXX.pwl file (XXXX = Your logon name - look in the start menu if you don't know) from your C:\Windows directory.

2) Go into Networking in Control panel and delete Client for MSN and/or Windows Family Logon if necessary. After rebooting then go back and add Client....

That should do it. [edit] Except, after re-adding Client and rebooting it will show again - just hit OK and it will be gone[/edit]
