Can anyone tell me which dlls and folders that are safe to delete in ICQ? I really don't need all those other "features" like net2phone, greeting cards, e-mail, etc. I just want the instant messaging service like what it was orginally intended to do.

P.S.
I'd rather not get Miranda ICQ 'cuz it's more featureless than I thought.

well, remember all you need to restore your list is the files inside the 2000b directory...
so backup those and start testing.

i reverted to icq 98 because it doesn't have most of the crap that 2000 does.

Well, you're gonna wanna, yeah get ICQ 98. :)

Only problem with it is the limit on message size but other than that it's small and simple useless crap.

Most people have recommended ICQ 99, does anyone know for a fact what the differences are between ICQ 98 and ICQ 99?

There was this web site which had the installer app for ICQ 99, of course I can't recall the web site name :)

The nicest feature they implemented in icq99 was the ability to send messages over 450 characters. I just ignore the bloat in 2000b though and use it. My computer's fast enough to run it and it takes up less resources than IE in most instances.

Thanks, but I'm interested in 99 since 98 can't send messages over 450 chars. anyone have it or a link?

What's the first release that allows more than 450 chars on messages?? I think that's the only feature I'll ever need.
