Sure but airport "security" is a joke. People could put the stuff inside a keychain token or charm, for example and these just get put in the basket while they walk through the metal detector.

why dont we use this instead of gasoline for combustion? Is it hard to find Sodium by itself? or does it put out a nasty gas?

Also airplane toilets don't use normal water do they? I thought they used that blue ****** like portapotty's.

IIRC the sodium forms sodium hydroxide when it burns. That's lye, which would be annoying to dispose of. Plus I'm sure handling would be annoying.
