Getting rid of batteries?

We have about 200 old battery packs (for handheld PCs, backup batteries) that are dead, and we don't want to just throw them away. Are there any free services that will dispose of them for us?

Do you have a Batteries Plus nearby? I would think they'd take them.

I mean, we could just throw them in the trash...but we know that's probably not the best idea

Yes, but you will have to check local sources. Ask the office stores for example.
