is there a way to disable autoplay from engaging.

i have macdrive 5 and it autoplays the hd when i plug it in.
but it wont disengage it.
preventing me from gaining access.. (it wont let me access the drive unless it's not autoplaying)
if i boot, it doesnt auto play.
if i plug it in (firewire)
auto play comes up and wont "cancel"!!

not sure how on a hard drive, but if its the same as a cd drive, then follow the instructions below:

-Single-click your Start Menu, mouse over Settings, and then single-click the Control Panel.
-In the Control Panel, double-click the System icon.
-On the Device Manager tab, double-click the CD-ROM branch.
-Double-click the CD-ROM or HD driver entry.
-On the Settings tab, uncheck the Auto Insert Notification box.

good luck.

try

-right clicking on my computer and properties.
-go to hardware tab and click on Device Manager, double-click the CD-ROM or HD branch.
-Double-click the CD-ROM or HD driver entry.
-On the Settings tab, uncheck the Auto Insert Notification box.
